Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup hot water
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

Step 1:

Mix sugar, water, cocoa and salt in a saucepan. Over medium heat, stir consistently until mixture boils. Reduce heat.

Step 2:

Stir in milk to heat, do not bring to a boil again. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Blend well. Serve immediately with whipped cream.
