Lisa Cancro

It’s with immense pride and heartfelt admiration that we celebrate Lisa Cancro, whose distinguished career and profound dedication have culminated in her being named Realtor of the Year 2024! At the very core of Lisa’s remarkable essence lies an unwavering love for Taos, a steadfast devotion to her beloved family, and a heartfelt commitment to the vibrant community she calls home. These guiding principles are the true foundation of every endeavor she undertakes, both professionally and personally.

As a real estate broker, Lisa is celebrated for her unmatched commitment and thoughtful attention to detail, ensuring clients navigate every step of their real estate journey with confidence and steadfast support. For over 25 years, she’s been instrumental in building Taos Properties alongside her husband John, creating a fulfilling business and lifestyle. Now, it’s truly a family affair: her daughter Alex has moved home to Taos and joined the company as an Associate Broker and photographer, and Olivia, also back from Seattle, is the talented graphic design artist handling all our advertising and design elements.

Lisa’s connection to Taos is deeply personal. As a mother, she’s long
experienced the community through the eyes of her daughters, Alex and Olivia(both Taos High graduates!), and remains perpetually in awe of Northern New Mexico’s tri-cultural heritage, natural beauty, and world-class artistry and outdoor experiences.

Her commitment to the community shines through her extensive advocacy for young people and non-profits. This legacy spans decades, from her early role as one of the founders of the Yaxche Learning Center-remembered by many for her groundbreaking Taos School of Cooking dining experiences and fundraising events. She also continues to honor her volunteer spirit with Bridges, a non-profit dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for first-generation and non-traditional college students, as a current board member. Beyond this, Lisa has also served on the Taos MLS committee for the past 3 years, holding the position of President for the last two years. She also proudly serves on the Enchanted Circle Association of Realtors Board for the past two years.

With a strong work ethic, compassion, and mindfulness for others, credited to her New York upbringing and a graduate from Syracuse University, Lisa
Cancro is an ideal guide for connecting clients with their ideal real estate investments. Her resolve isn’t just a trait; it’s a promise of dedication to her clients and her community.
