An 18th-century stone house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms
Believed to have been constructed in 1784, this was the manor house for a working farm owned by Jacob Uhler, the son of German immigrants. It is set on a small bluff overlooking the Delaware River, in a village in Upper Bucks County, 70 miles west of Manhattan and eight miles south of Easton, Pa.

Indoors: The house is thoroughly updated and was renovated in 2005, with an addition that reoriented the main entrance to the rear of the property and that includes a new entry hall, full bathroom and large eat-in kitchen. The river-facing formal entrance is on the opposite side, framed by a walled bluestone patio that was probably built in the 1930s.
Passing through the entrance foyer in the addition and turning right along a hallway, you enter the 21st-century kitchen. Outdoor space: French doors in the kitchen open to a gravel patio area and an in-ground saline pool that was refurbished in 2016. The stone building that served as the original springhouse and summer kitchen sits at the front of the 1.09-acre property, awaiting conversion to any number of uses. Parking pads accommodate four cars.
The farm’s original barn is next to this property. It is currently on the market with its 1.75-acre lot for $179,000.

This post-and-beam house is in a seaside village of fewer than 1,000 year-round residents, on Blue Hill Peninsula. It is about an hour west of Mount Desert Island and an hour and a half northeast of Camden, Me. The Holbrook Island Sanctuary state park is a 12-minute drive. Many shops and services can be found in Blue Hill, about 15 minutes away.
